🧠 Key Quote | Mark Hurd | Former CEO, Oracle
AI is now shaping how we meet, how we show up, how we shop, and how we step into digital worlds.

🧠The Pulse
Zoom is giving users a new way to show up: through lifelike AI avatars. Starting December, paid users can create photorealistic clones that mirror expressions and voice. Alongside this, Zoom’s latest AI tools promise real-time translations, cross-platform meeting notes, and even suggestions on which calls to skip.
📌The Download
At Zoomtopia 2025, the company unveiled AI Companion 3.0. Users can record a short video to build their avatar, which mimics lip sync and facial movements in meetings. Beyond live calls, avatars can also deliver scripted video messages through Zoom Clips, letting users “send” themselves without being present.
The AI upgrade isn’t limited to Zoom meetings. It can now take notes in Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and even in-person sessions. A “Free Up My Time” option analyzes tasks and calendars to suggest which meetings users can safely skip. Real-time voice translation supports multilingual teams, making global calls smoother.
The custom avatar add-on costs about $12 a month, with limits like five avatars and 18 minutes of video generation. Zoom says safeguards such as authentication, watermarking, and strict policies will prevent misuse. Still, experts warn deepfake risks remain as avatars blur the line between genuine presence and AI stand-ins.
💡What This Means for You
AI avatars could change how anyone joins online meetings, classes, or even virtual hangouts. They offer convenience when you’re not camera-ready and make it easier to keep up with conversations across languages. But they also raise questions of trust and identity. The real challenge: knowing when to let AI stand in for you.
🧠The Pulse
Google just slipped Gemini AI into Meet. Miss a call? Arrive late? No problem. It can catch you up instantly. The tool answers questions, highlights decisions, and even serves a “what you missed” recap. But only if the host turns on a powerful new feature: Take Notes for Me.
📌The Download
The rollout has begun, but it’s only for select Google Workspace customers on plans like Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus. Right now, it works in English and only on desktop. Admins can also choose to disable it, so not everyone will see it at once.
Ask Gemini isn’t just spitting summaries. It pulls context from live captions, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides you already have access to, and even public web pages. It can answer “What did Allen say earlier?” or “What actions were decided?” as long as the data is available.
Google cautions that Gemini can make mistakes, even about people. While it’s handy for catching up, users are advised to double-check the AI’s notes or replay the missed section afterward. In other words, it’s a shortcut, not a replacement for paying attention.
💡What This Means for You
Gemini can be your shortcut to staying in the loop. Missed a call or zoned out? It can hand you the key points, decisions, and action items in seconds. But remember, it can slip up. Treat it as a quick guide, not the final truth.
🧠The Pulse
Meta showed off its biggest tech update yet. It launched new Ray Ban glasses that can show info inside the lens, Oakley sports glasses that track workouts with Garmin and Strava, and Quest headsets that turn real rooms into virtual ones. Meta also made its metaverse run faster.
📌The Download
Meta showed Ray Ban Display, its first glasses with an AR screen inside the lens. They use a Neural Band wrist strap for finger control, last 6 hours per charge, and the case adds 30 more. Price is $799 and launch is set for September 30.
A new Ray Ban line now has stronger batteries and smarter audio starting at $379. Oakley Meta Vanguard, priced at $499, is water resistant and connects to Garmin and Strava to display workout stats. They launch October 21 in the US and Canada.
Quest headsets now scan real rooms and bring them into VR. A new entertainment hub will expand music, sports, and gaming. Meta also boosted the engine powering its metaverse, even though some live demos faced glitches.
💡What This Means for You
These updates show how fast technology is blending into daily life. Glasses are no longer just for vision, they can show maps, track workouts, and even bring AI into your field of view. For anyone curious about the future, this is a clear sign of where our digital world is heading.
🧠The Pulse
Amazon just launched a powerful AI chatbot that makes ads for you with a single text prompt. It pulls product details and brand information to create polished videos and banners. What once took days can now take minutes, changing how millions of sellers compete for attention.
📌The Download
The chatbot is inside Amazon Ads Creative Studio and it is free for sellers. You type a short request and it builds ad concepts using your store details, product pages, and brand guidelines. It creates several choices instantly so sellers can pick what fits their style best.
The tool makes static display ads, video storyboards, and even audio options. It also explains why it picked certain images or taglines, which makes it easier to adjust. Amazon says this will help smaller sellers who do not have big budgets or agencies to create ads quickly.
The rollout begins in the US this month and will expand worldwide later. Amazon earns more than $46B each year from ads, and this tool can increase that number by filling the site with more promotions. Experts warn that brand safety and AI mistakes remain challenges to watch.
💡What This Means for You
AI is no longer just answering questions, it is now creating ads that shape what you see online. This means shopping experiences may look different, with more ads made by machines than humans. It shows how quickly AI is moving into daily life, even in places you shop every day.
