Meta is exploring deals with Google and OpenAI to bring their AI into Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. The company does not want to wait for its own model, Llama 5, which is still in progress. These talks show Meta wants more powerful AI inside its apps right now.
šThe Download
Leaders at Metaās new group called Meta Superintelligence Labs are in early talks with Google and OpenAI. They are looking at bringing in Gemini and GPT models to strengthen Meta AI features. This would be a temporary boost until Metaās Llama 5 model is ready for release.
Meta already uses Anthropic models for coding support. With this, the company is showing it will work with any strong AI while it builds its own. The lab is run by Alexandr Wang, founder of Scale AI, and Nat Friedman, former CEO of GitHub. Both were hired to speed up Metaās AI race.
The talks also tie into Metaās wider push in AI, which includes the $5 billion Hyperion data center in Louisiana. That project has faced criticism because of rising power costs for local residents. However, it highlights how far Meta is willing to go to support its AI future. Neither Google nor OpenAI has commented on the discussions.
š”What This Means for You
Meta may soon mix AI from Google, OpenAI, and its own Llama models. If you use Instagram, WhatsApp, or Facebook, new AI tools could appear much faster. For professionals, this means you will not need to wait for Metaās own model to see big changes in everyday apps.

Anthropic is asking Claude users to decide if their chats should train future AI. Free, Pro, Max, and Claude Code users must opt in or out by September 28. Choosing yes means data is kept for five years. Saying no keeps the old 30-day deletion policy.
šThe Download
Anthropic explains that training with real chats will help Claude improve reasoning, coding, and safety features. New users will be asked during signup, while existing users will see a pop-up. If no choice is made by the deadline, access will stop. Old chats will stay excluded unless a user reopens them.
Enterprise services such as Claude for Work, Claude Gov, Claude for Education, and API use on Amazon Bedrock or Google Cloud will not change. These accounts already follow separate privacy agreements. The new rule only covers individual consumer products.
Data used for training cannot be removed even if a user changes settings later. Opting in means five years of retention, while opting out keeps the 30-day limit. Anthropic also notes that flagged content or feedback may still be stored longer to improve filters or monitor harmful use.
š”What This Means for You
If you rely on Claude, you must make a choice soon. Opting in helps Anthropic build smarter AI, but your conversations stay on record for years. Opting out keeps your privacy tighter, but you may miss out on model improvements shaped by real user data.

Reliance Jio has launched JioFrames, AI-powered smart glasses that take direct aim at Metaās Ray-Ban line. Shown at the companyās 48th AGM, the glasses let users speak to an AI voice assistant in several Indian languages. The move signals Ambaniās push to anchor AI wearables in Indiaās daily life.
šThe Download
The JioFrames debut came at Relianceās 48th Annual General Meeting in late August 2025, where Akash Ambani highlighted the device as part of Jioās expanding AI portfolio. The glasses are designed for Indiaās diversity, giving people a way to interact with an AI assistant through voice in several local languages.
They come with HD photo and video recording, live streaming, and instant backup to Jioās AI Cloud. Users can make calls, listen to music with open-ear speakers, and get help with daily activities such as reading recipes, translating languages, or summarizing information. Reliance has not yet shared the price or release date.
The launch happened along with Jio AI Cloud 2.0, Jio Digital Twin, and JioPC, showing the companyās wider plan to create an AI-first ecosystem. Reliance also highlighted its ties with Meta and Google. By releasing JioFrames, Ambani is putting Indian-made smart glasses in direct competition with Zuckerbergās Ray-Bans.
š”What This Means for You
AI glasses are shifting from experiments to real products, and India is now on the front line. For professionals, this is a sign that wearable AI will soon compete with phones and laptops for daily tasks. The question is no longer if youāll use one, but which brand youāll trust.
š§ The Pulse
Microsoft is moving out of OpenAIās shadow. It just introduced two of its own AI models. One makes speech almost instantly, the other handles text, built on a huge cluster of GPUs. This puts Microsoft in direct competition with GPT 5, DeepSeek, and others. The AI race is heating up.
šThe Download
Microsoft AI chief Mustafa Suleyman presented MAI Voice 1. This is a speech model that can create one minute of audio in less than one second on a single GPU. It already powers Copilot Daily and Podcasts. People can also try it themselves through Copilot Labs.
At the same time, Microsoft released MAI 1 Preview. This is a large language model trained on about 15,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs. It is built to give quick and consumer friendly answers. Public testing has started through the LMArena benchmarking platform.
These moves show Microsoftās unease with relying on OpenAIās GPT models. High costs and performance concerns have pushed the company to act. With about 80 billion dollars spent each year on AI infrastructure, Microsoft is racing to shape its own path forward.
š”What This Means for You
If you use Copilot or other AI tools, Microsoftās own models will soon be part of your daily work. They promise faster responses and lower costs. At the same time, the AI world is breaking into rival camps. This means the tools you choose will shape what results you get.
