Hello There!

China just shipped 97 out of every 100 humanoid robots sold on Earth, which means the robot that shows up on your shop floor next year will almost certainly arrive with a Chinese passport. ChatGPT’s Sites can now be edited by your whole team, which means “who published that page?” is about to become a real workplace question. And OpenAI quietly cut the price of its most powerful model by up to a third, which means the smartest AI on the market now costs less per million words than lunch.

Here’s what’s making headlines in the world of AI and innovation today.

In today’s AI Pulse

  • 🤖 China Corners Humanoids – Chinese makers shipped more than 97% of the world’s humanoid robots in the first half of 2026.

  • 🌐 ChatGPT Sites Go Multiplayer – Owners can now invite teammates to edit and publish the same live site.

  • 💸 OpenAI Cuts Its Top Price – GPT-5.6 Sol just got more than 20% cheaper for developers.

🧠 The Pulse

Chinese manufacturers accounted for more than 97% of global humanoid robot shipments in the first half of 2026. Worldwide shipments reached roughly 19,100 units, up almost 275% year over year, and two Chinese firms alone, AgiBot and Unitree, delivered more than 14,000 of them. Everyone else on the planet split what was left.

📌 The Download

  • 97% and climbing – Chinese makers took more than 97% of global humanoid shipments in H1 2026, leaving under 3% for the rest of the world combined.

  • Two firms dominate – AgiBot shipped roughly 8,400 units, about 44% of the global total, with Unitree close behind at around 5,900.

  • Nearly 4x in a year – Global shipments jumped from about 5,100 units in H1 2025 to about 19,100 in H1 2026.

  • Work, not novelty – Industrial and commercial deployments made up over 70% of shipments, up from roughly 50% a year earlier, with 60,000 units forecast for the full year.

💡 What This Means for You

Humanoids have left the demo stage and are shipping into factories and warehouses at volume, with one country controlling almost the entire supply. If your operations roadmap touches material handling, inspection or line-side logistics, start pressure-testing vendor concentration, spare-parts lead times and geopolitical risk now, not after procurement signs.

Team collaboratively editing a website layout on a large monitor

🧠 The Pulse

OpenAI has turned ChatGPT Sites into shared workspace property. Site owners can now invite active workspace members as editors, who can update and save a Site and, once the owner has published it for the first time, push later versions to that same live URL. The owner keeps every control that matters.

📌 The Download

  • Co-editing arrives – Owners can invite any active workspace member as an editor on a Site they own.

  • Editors can publish – After the owner’s first publish, editors can push later versions to the same live Site URL.

  • Owner keeps the keys – Sharing settings, site configuration, analytics, ownership, version restore and editor access all stay with the owner.

  • Where it works – The feature is live across ChatGPT Enterprise and Business, plus the Plus and Pro tiers where Site collaboration is supported.

💡 What This Means for You

A launch page, a project microsite or an internal one-pager no longer needs a developer or a design queue. Your team can draft, edit and ship a live page inside the tool they already write in. Agree who holds publishing rights before everyone starts editing, or your version control becomes a hallway conversation.

Descending glowing blue blocks representing falling prices

🧠 The Pulse

OpenAI cut developer pricing for its frontier GPT-5.6 Sol model on August 21, dropping input tokens from $5 to $4 per million and output tokens from $30 to $20. The three-month promotional cut lands as Anthropic and fast-moving Chinese labs squeeze OpenAI’s pricing power. Consumer subscription prices are unchanged.

📌 The Download

  • Output down a third – Output tokens fall from $30 to $20 per million, while input drops from $5 to $4.

  • Three-month window – The lower rates are a promotional period, not yet a permanent list price.

  • Developers only – The cut covers API access on eligible plans plus ChatGPT Work and Codex; Pro, Plus and Business subscriptions stay the same.

  • Part of a pattern – It follows late-July cuts of 20% on GPT-5.6 Terra and up to 80% on Luna.

💡 What This Means for You

Frontier-model economics are collapsing faster than most budgets assume. Automations you priced out six months ago may clear the business case today. Re-run the numbers on your shelved AI pilots, and build a cost re-check into your project gates instead of locking vendor assumptions in at kickoff.

Your employees are connecting AI to everything. Now what?

ChatGPT and Claude aren't just answering questions. Employees are connecting them directly to Notion, Linear, Jira, and the rest of your stack — with no security visibility into what data moves or what actions they take.

Harmonic Security gives your team the visibility to control it.
