Meta is working with Midjourney to boost its AI visuals. The deal lets Meta use Midjourney’s image and video technology. Meta Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang announced it on Threads. The move shows Meta needs outside help to compete with Google and OpenAI in the race for better visuals.

šŸ“ŒThe Download

  • Meta will use Midjourney’s aesthetic technology and connect its own research team with Midjourney’s developers. The plan is to add Midjourney’s skills into future Meta apps including Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook. The financial terms are not known but the partnership is already shaping Meta’s product roadmap.

  • Meta’s own tools Imagine and Movie Gen have struggled to keep pace with OpenAI Sora and Google Veo. Midjourney recently launched its first video model called V1 in June 2025. By linking V1’s advanced visuals with Meta’s platforms, the company hopes to quickly narrow the gap and compete on realism and quality.

  • Midjourney is a rare AI company that stayed independent and self funded. It was earning about 200 million dollars by 2023 and sells subscriptions between 10 and 120 dollars a month. The deal is part of Meta’s wider effort that includes a 14 billion dollar stake in Scale AI and the takeover of Play AI.

šŸ’”What This Means for You

If you create or share digital media, Meta tools will soon deliver stronger visuals. Midjourney’s style will appear inside Meta apps and change what people see online. Human and AI visuals will blend more closely and you will have to decide how much you trust the content in your feed.

Google Drive now makes video editing easier. A new Open button shows up when you preview a file. One click takes it straight into Google Vids, where you can trim clips, add text, or place music. The process feels simple, like sharing a document instead of juggling extra apps.

šŸ“ŒThe Download

  • The shortcut appears in the top right corner during video preview. When clicked, the video opens directly in Google Vids as an editable project. It supports MP4, MOV, OGG, and WebM formats. Each clip can run up to 35 minutes or 4 GB. After edits, the file must be exported as MP4.

  • The rollout started on August 21, 2025, and it will expand over the next two weeks. It works on Chrome, Firefox, and Edge browsers on desktop. The feature is active by default. However, Workspace administrators have the choice to turn it off if needed.

  • Google is tying this to its wider plan to bring AI tools closer to daily tasks. Google Vids already creates AI scripts and arranges clips automatically. With this shortcut, Drive itself becomes a direct place for video editing. Teachers, marketers, and teams handling quick content now save time and reduce extra steps.

šŸ’”What This Means for You

Editing videos inside Google Drive cuts wasted effort and tool hopping. If you work with lessons, marketing, or client demos, you can now make changes more quickly. The update shows how workspaces are turning into full creative studios. Adapting fast will keep your process smooth and competitive.

🧠The Pulse

Elon Musk has announced that his company xAI is creating a new venture called Macrohard. He says it will be a purely AI software company designed to compete with Microsoft. The name may sound like a joke, but Musk insists the project is serious and aims to change how software is built.

šŸ“ŒThe Download

  • Musk revealed Macrohard in a Friday post on X. He explained that since software companies do not make hardware, their operations can be fully simulated by artificial intelligence. He also used the announcement to invite engineers to join xAI and help turn the idea into reality.

  • Trademark filings show that xAI registered the name Macrohard on August 1 in the United States. The filing covers tools that generate speech and text with AI.

  • Reports also point to Macrohard being linked with Colossus 2, a supercomputer in Memphis that runs on millions of Nvidia chips. In addition, business records show a new company called Macrohard Ventures was registered in Delaware, which makes the project look even more concrete.

  • Observers believe Macrohard will try to use xAI’s Grok models to handle every part of software work. That means writing code, testing it, designing interfaces, and even managing projects. The goal is to tap into the global software market valued at over one trillion dollars.

šŸ’”What This Means for You

Musk wants AI to run a software company from start to finish. If this works, entire projects may be built without human teams. For professionals, it signals a future where AI does not only help with coding but could take control of the full process of software creation.

Apple is giving companies new power over ChatGPT at work. From September, IT managers can decide exactly where and how employees use the enterprise chatbot. This change puts Apple in the center of workplace AI because it offers businesses more control, privacy, and choice as they begin to depend on AI.

šŸ“ŒThe Download

  • Apple will release the new tools in September across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Vision Pro. Companies will be able to allow or block ChatGPT Enterprise and other AI providers. Admins can also choose if AI requests are handled directly on the device or sent to the cloud. The company says its Private Cloud Compute system makes sure the data stays secure and never passes through different services.

  • OpenAI says ChatGPT Enterprise already supports more than 5 million business users. Apple’s update will give companies precise control by letting managers decide which teams or apps can use AI. This is not limited to ChatGPT because the same settings can be applied to other AI providers that companies want to use.

  • Apple is also adding broader enterprise upgrades. There will be a new API for Apple Business Manager so IT teams can link it with existing tools. A device migration feature will support mergers and acquisitions. The Return to Service option will now work on Vision Pro and will erase user data while keeping apps. Shared Mac computers will also get a secure guest mode with automatic data wipe at logout.

šŸ’”What This Means for You

AI at work will now be under stricter rules. If your company uses Apple devices, your access to ChatGPT and other AI tools could be limited by managers. Apple is making it clear that workplace AI will not be free to use without oversight. Your daily use may soon depend on company policy.

"I would view AI as something that augments human ingenuity, not replaces it."
—    Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft
