šŸ¤– Hack AI Before It Hacks Us

In partnership with

Hello There!

OpenAI is leaning deeper into ChatGPT with Pulse emerging as a favorite new feature, though Sam Altman hinted ads could one day find their way in. At the same time, app integrations are going live so you can summon tools like Spotify or Zillow without ever leaving the chatbot. Google is pushing in another direction with a fresh bug bounty program designed to catch dangerous AI exploits, while Deloitte is making a high-profile bet on Anthropic even as it cleans up the fallout from an AI misstep.

AI is reshaping interactions, boosting safety, and driving bold enterprise moves.

🧠The Pulse

OpenAI has launched Pulse, a personalized feed inside ChatGPT that learns from your activity. CEO Sam Altman says it is his favorite feature released in a long time. Right now, there are no ads in Pulse. However, Altman did not close the door on ads that may arrive in the future.

šŸ“ŒThe Download

  • At OpenAI’s DevDay event in San Francisco, Sam Altman told reporters that there are no active plans for advertising in Pulse. However, he admitted he likes Instagram ads and could see a version of Pulse with ads if they are useful and not disruptive. He emphasized that protecting user experience comes first.

  • Pulse works like a daily AI assistant. It reviews your chats and linked apps such as email, calendar, or fitness data, and then prepares updates on your day. These updates may include reminders, news briefs, or even dining ideas. Altman said it is the most exciting tool OpenAI has launched recently. However, because of heavy compute needs, only Pro subscribers can use it right now.

  • The topic of ads has been raised inside OpenAI before. Executives have mentioned that it could support the company in the future. Pulse looks like a feed or recommendation hub, which is the same model that turned Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok into advertising powerhouses. Some users already share concerns about privacy and even make jokes online about Pulse ā€œthinking of them overnight.ā€

šŸ’”What This Means for You

Pulse could quickly become the daily feed you rely on. If ads arrive, they will not only promote brands but could shape what news, tips, or ideas you see each day. Your AI feed may soon mix real insights with paid influence, changing how you make choices.

🧠The Pulse

OpenAI has changed how you use ChatGPT. You can now ask it to create a Spotify playlist, search Zillow homes, or design a Canva project without switching apps. Everything happens in the same chat. For the first time your apps and your AI assistant finally talk to each other.

šŸ“ŒThe Download

  • OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT apps starting with 6 big names Spotify, Zillow, Canva, Figma, Expedia and Coursera. You can stay in the chat and ask for music homes or designs and ChatGPT connects directly with the app. This upgrade makes ChatGPT look less like a chatbot and more like your main digital hub.

  • Developers also get a new Apps SDK which opens the door for even more integrations. Early demos show Canva creating a poster then turning it into a pitch deck and Expedia booking hotels all inside one chat. OpenAI confirmed that companies like Uber DoorDash, OpenTable and Target are already preparing to join later this year.

  • The launch is rolling out now but it does not cover the EU. Sources reported that OpenAI wants the apps to stay safe and consistent before expanding further. Analysts compare this move to mini apps inside Telegram or Discord yet here you keep talking naturally while the app completes the task for you.

šŸ’”What This Means for You

AI is moving closer to becoming the place where all your apps live. Soon you may not need to switch between websites or platforms to get things done. From music to shopping to learning, everything could happen inside one chat. The future of daily apps just changed.

Google is paying up to $30K if you can find a hole in its AI products. Imagine tricking a smart speaker to unlock a door or forcing Gmail to send your private emails elsewhere. Google wants outside experts to uncover these threats before real attackers do.

šŸ“ŒThe Download

  • Google started a new AI bug bounty program this week and the highest payout is $30K for serious flaws in products like Search, Gemini, Gmail and Drive. Smaller apps and lower risk issues, such as leaking model data, come with smaller payments. The program is separate from its older rewards system.

  • The company listed the type of hacks that qualify. These include prompt tricks that make AI take unsafe actions like unlocking smart devices, or prompts that secretly gather and send personal information. However, not all AI mistakes count. Hate speech, bias, or wrong answers must go through regular product feedback instead.

  • Google said it has already paid $430K in the past 2 years for AI vulnerabilities under its earlier system. It also launched CodeMender, an AI tool that already helped patch 72 security issues in open source software. Overall, Google paid $12M to 660 researchers last year across all its bug bounty programs.

šŸ’”What This Means for You

AI systems are becoming part of everyday life, from smart devices to online accounts. Google offering $30K shows how serious the risks are. Security flaws can open doors for attackers, but they can also shape how safe these tools become. The trust you place in AI starts here.

Deloitte signed a massive deal with Anthropic to roll out Claude AI to 470,000 employees. But on the same day, it refunded Australia’s govt after a $439K report was found packed with fake AI references. Deloitte is charging ahead with AI even while facing its flaws in public.

šŸ“ŒThe Download

  • The refund came from a 237-page review for Australia’s Department of Employment and Workplace Relations worth $439K. The report contained fake quotes, citations to non-existent papers, and wrong references generated using Azure OpenAI GPT-4o. Deloitte corrected the errors, removed false court quotes, and repaid the final installment. Officials said the main findings remained valid.

  • This triggered political heat, with lawmakers calling for transparency in how big firms use AI. Still, Deloitte went ahead and announced its new Anthropic deal the same day. The plan is to bring Claude AI to 470,000 workers worldwide, set up a Claude Centre of Excellence, and design AI personas for accountants, developers, and consultants.

  • Deloitte will also train 15,000 staff in AI governance and build industry tools with compliance guardrails for healthcare, finance, and more. The company did not share financial terms of the deal. Leaders say this proves Deloitte’s focus on ā€œresponsible AI.ā€ However, the refund shows how risky it is when AI outputs are not carefully checked.

šŸ’”What This Means for You

Even the biggest firms can trip up when AI makes things up. Deloitte’s gamble shows AI is now central to work, but the danger is treating it like a finished product. The real advantage will come from knowing when to question AI results instead of relying on them blindly.

BOOK OF THE DAY

With eye-opening stories and practical lessons, Robert Kegan and Lisa Lahey show that the best organizations don’t just focus on profits or performance, they focus on growing people. An Everyone Culture teaches us that the strongest companies treat development as part of everyday work, not something extra.

  • Think Growth, Not Just Performance – Most workplaces expect results but rarely help people work on their weaknesses openly. The authors explain how Deliberately Developmental Organizations (DDOs) build a culture where employees feel safe to face challenges, learn from mistakes, and grow stronger together.

  • 3 Powerful Principles of DDOs – Organizations with a Deliberately Developmental mindset make growth part of everyday work. They create safety around vulnerability, treat feedback as a constant practice, and put people first—knowing that when individuals grow, the whole organization thrives.

  • Beyond Traditional Success – When companies embrace being a DDO, trust grows, fear shrinks, and everyone contributes more freely. The result? Teams achieve extraordinary outcomes, not because they avoid problems, but because they face them together. Work becomes more human, purposeful, and energizing.

šŸ’” Why you can’t ignore this:

Strategies and systems can be copied. But a culture where people can be their real selves—always learning and improving—is nearly impossible to replicate. Organizations that build such cultures unlock not only performance but also joy and loyalty.
