🚨 Can Google's New AI Out-Hack the Hackers?
Google just built an AI that finds security flaws before attackers do, ChatGPT now works inside ServiceNow, and Claude ships ready-made legal tools.

AI research, explained in one morning email
Most of what shapes AI next year is sitting in a research paper today. Keeping up with them is a full-time job, and the abstracts don't help.
TLDR AI is the newsletter that does the translating. Each morning you get the handful of papers worth knowing about, curated by Anthropic and ex-Google engineers, with a plain-English summary of what they found and why it matters.
You come away smarter about AI research in the time it takes to finish your coffee.

Hello There!
Google just built an AI that hunts software flaws before hackers can, which means your IT team's backlog may finally have met its match. OpenAI wired ChatGPT straight into ServiceNow, which means raising that ticket could soon be as easy as sending a message. And Anthropic gave Claude a gallery of ready-made legal tools, which means the contract review that ate your Friday might be done before lunch.
Here's what's making headlines in the world of AI and innovation today.
In today's AI Pulse

🧠 The Pulse
Google has launched Gemini 4 Carbon, its most powerful frontier model, built for long-running engineering and cybersecurity work. It can uncover software vulnerabilities and write working fixes. Because those skills cut both ways, Google is releasing it to vetted cyber defenders first before opening access to developers, businesses and consumers.
📌 The Download
A new flagship – Gemini 4 Carbon arrived October 28, just two weeks after Gemini 4 Argon, and ranks first on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v5 with a score of 59.
Elite security scores – It hit 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro for vulnerability discovery, 71% on CWE-bench for producing working fixes, and 54.8% on ExploitGym.
Defenders get it first – Google is starting with a subset of cyber defenders, then expanding through its Fairwind Program, after taking part in voluntary US government pre-release testing.
Priced to spread – Introductory pricing matches Argon at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with cached inputs 95% cheaper.
💡 What This Means for You
The same AI that can find a flaw can also exploit one, which is why access is being rationed. Expect security reviews, code audits and vendor risk checks to become AI-assisted quickly. Professionals who can validate AI findings and turn them into controlled, documented fixes will be the ones trusted with these tools.

🧠 The Pulse
OpenAI and ServiceNow have expanded their partnership so employees can pull up ServiceNow data and take real actions, like updating records or finding similar incidents, directly inside ChatGPT. The deal also brings Codex into ServiceNow's app-building tools and adds a joint cybersecurity product, turning chat into a front door for enterprise work.
📌 The Download
Work from the chat – A new ServiceNow plugin, live in OpenAI's marketplace since October 28, lets authorized users search records and act on them without switching apps.
Guardrails stay on – Customers choose which capabilities to expose, and ServiceNow's Action Fabric enforces existing business rules and permissions on every action.
Codex and security next – Codex arrives in ServiceNow's AI Workflow Factory in 2027, while a joint attack-path security offering enters early access in January 2027.
Eating its own cooking – ServiceNow plans to give every employee access to ChatGPT Work and Codex, extending well beyond its engineering organization.
💡 What This Means for You
The chat window is becoming the place where work actually gets done, not just discussed. Soon you may raise requests, update records and trigger approvals in one conversation. Learn which actions need sign-off, keep an audit trail and verify outcomes, because speed without control is simply faster mistakes.

🧠 The Pulse
Anthropic has launched ready-to-use interactive artifacts for Claude for Legal, a gallery of tools such as contract trackers, regulatory scans and matter boards. Teams can tailor them, connect their own sources and share them across the business. Every output links back to its source, so findings can be checked quickly.
📌 The Download
A legal toolkit out of the box – The gallery includes cite checks, jurisdiction survey matrices, playbook deviation boards, regulatory horizon scans and tabular reviews.
Big names contributing – Partner-built artifacts come from Harvey, Goodwin, Foley & Lardner and PwC, covering intake, obligations checks, AI governance and subpoena response.
Plugged into real data – More than 60 legal connectors, including Bloomberg Law and Filevine, bring playbooks and research in without manual uploads.
Access to justice – Nine artifacts target public-interest needs like rent ledgers and record sealing, alongside a new Legal Ambassadors Program for practitioners building with Claude.
💡 What This Means for You
AI is shifting from one-off answers to reusable tools that encode how work should be done. That is standard work, digitized. Turn your repeat tasks into templates, insist on traceable sources and share what works, because a checked, repeatable process beats a clever prompt every single time.
