Hello There!

SpaceX started machining its own turbine blades because the queue for AI’s power equipment now runs into 2030, which means the rocket company is quietly turning into an energy company. Meta put its new image model on the API at a penny a picture, which means the cost of a visual just dropped below the cost of the meeting about the visual. And ASUS reorganized itself around humanoid robots and factory AI, which means the company that sold you a laptop now wants to staff your production line.

Here’s what’s making headlines in the world of AI and innovation today.

In today’s AI Pulse

  • ⚙️ SpaceX Makes Blades – Musk’s fix for AI’s power crunch is a turbine blade factory.

  • 🎨 Meta Drops the Price – Its new image model runs one cent a picture.

  • 🤖 ASUS Bets on Robots – The PC maker reorganizes itself around physical AI.

Row of gas turbine generators powering a large data center at dusk

🧠 The Pulse

SpaceX has started manufacturing turbine blades and vanes in-house, the hardest components in a gas turbine to build. A single batch normally takes 60 to 90 weeks, and the order queue for the portable generators now powering AI data centers stretches into 2030. Building them itself could pull deliveries forward by roughly 18 months.

📌 The Download

  • The real bottleneck – Blades and vanes are the choke point in jet engine and generator production, with one batch running 60 to 90 weeks.

  • Eighteen months back – In-house production could cut generator delivery times by about 18 months against a queue that otherwise runs into 2030.

  • Why AI needs it – Operators are buying portable gas turbines to skip multi-year grid connection waits; Musk already spent roughly $1 billion on a turbine fleet, including for Colossus in Memphis.

  • Gas as a bridge – Musk says natural gas is still needed to “supplement and bootstrap solar” for several years, while SpaceX and Tesla each build toward 100GW a year of solar production.

💡 What This Means for You

This is Theory of Constraints at national scale. When the constraint moved from chips to power equipment, the answer was to own the constraint outright. Look at your own value stream the same way: the step everyone queues behind is the one worth insourcing, not the step that is easiest to optimize.

A single penny with holographic generated images fanning out above it

🧠 The Pulse

Meta has put Muse Image, the first image model from its Superintelligence Labs, on the Meta Model API at $0.01 per image. It is billed as a reasoning model that plans a layout before it draws, and it holds composition steady across edits, so revising one element no longer restarts the whole picture.

📌 The Download

  • A cent an image – Muse Image is listed at $0.01 per image on the Meta Model API, undercutting most frontier image models on posted price.

  • It plans before it draws – Meta describes Muse Image as a reasoning model that works out layout first rather than generating in a single pass.

  • Edits stay anchored – Anchored composition keeps the rest of the frame stable when you change one element, making iteration predictable instead of a re-roll.

  • Built for builders – It ships through Meta’s developer API alongside the wider Muse line, aimed at teams generating images at volume rather than one-offs.

💡 What This Means for You

Image generation has stopped being a budget line. At a cent a shot, the constraint moves from cost to control: who checks brand accuracy, who approves, who catches the errors. Build that review step into the process now, before your team ships a thousand images nobody actually signed off on.

Humanoid robot and robotic arm working on a modern smart factory line

🧠 The Pulse

ASUS has folded its AIoT unit into a new Physical AI Solutions Business Group, putting humanoid robots and factory-floor AI at the center of the company as it shifts away from contract electronics manufacturing. It follows the chairman’s decision to go all in on AI and stop launching new smartphones.

📌 The Download

  • A new business group – The AIoT Business Group has been rebranded as the Physical AI Solutions Business Group, with humanoid robots named as a strategic focus.

  • Phones are out – ASUS has confirmed it will stop releasing new Zenfone and ROG handsets, redirecting resources into AI, servers and robotics.

  • The kit is already shipping – Its PE3000N industrial edge computer runs NVIDIA Jetson Thor, alongside AISVision recognition and InsightOne sensor-fusion products for factories.

  • The prize it is chasing – ASUS points at a physical AI market that Future Market Insights sizes at $383 billion in 2026, reaching $3.25 trillion by 2040.

💡 What This Means for You

When a PC maker restructures itself around robots, physical AI has left the demo stage. The near-term change on your floor is not a humanoid, it is edge AI on the line: vision inspection, sensor fusion, scheduling. Pick one high-defect process and scope what continuous machine vision would actually catch.
