Find out why 100K+ engineers read The Code twice a week
Staying behind on tech trends can be a career killer.
But let’s face it, no one has hours to spare every week trying to stay updated.
That’s why over 100,000 engineers at companies like Google, Meta, and Apple read The Code twice a week.
Here’s why it works:
No fluff, just signal – Learn the most important tech news delivered in just two short emails.
Supercharge your skills – Get access to top research papers and resources that give you an edge in the industry.
See the future first – Discover what’s next before it hits the mainstream, so you can lead, not follow.

Learn AI in 5 minutes a day
What’s the secret to staying ahead of the curve in the world of AI? Information. Luckily, you can join 1,000,000+ early adopters reading The Rundown AI — the free newsletter that makes you smarter on AI with just a 5-minute read per day.
🧠The Pulse
You go online to watch your favorite creator, and suddenly the clips feel strange. They look real, but something is off. This is happening with influencer Eugenia Cooney. Real livestreams of her are now mixed with AI-made videos that show her in disturbing and even sexualized scenes.
📌The Download
A YouTube archive channel with 250K subscribers started uploading dozens of AI videos of Cooney alongside her real clips. Some show her eating fried chicken, others place her in distorted or sexual scenes. The first fakes looked obviously false, but newer ones look realistic enough to fool viewers.
Rumors spread further after July when a neighbor claimed to see a body bag leaving her home at 11 pm. Meta AI wrongly posted that she had died from organ failure on July 12. Her last live appearance was in May 2025 when she collapsed on stream, and since then, only a few pre-recorded videos have appeared.
YouTube allows these AI uploads because they are labeled as synthetic. OpenAI’s Sora tool also lets users upload their own face and voice so others can create content with it. Critics warn that this makes it easy to copy anyone’s likeness. The result is a new wave of harassment and misinformation.
💡What This Means for You
Your online image can now be copied in minutes. If AI can fake an influencer with 2M followers, it can also fake you. This matters because what people see online shapes your reputation. The real question is how you will protect yourself before a fake version of you goes viral.
🧠The Pulse
Claude just learned a new trick. Anthropic has added Skills that let you set rules once, and Claude remembers them. Now it can follow your company style, handle spreadsheets, or prepare reports without you explaining things again. It feels less like an experiment and more like a coworker who already knows your playbook.
📌The Download
Anthropic has introduced Skills as reusable packages that combine instructions, scripts, and resources. Instead of typing the same prompts every day, you load one Skill and Claude applies it everywhere, including Claude.ai, Claude Code, the API, and the Agent SDK. This makes Claude work in your context, not as a generic chatbot.
Big names like Box, Canva, and Rakuten are already trying Skills to cut repetitive work. Anthropic has also shared free starter Skills for Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and fillable PDFs. If you are not technical, there is a Skill that guides you step by step to create your own. Developers get a new /skills API endpoint and version control inside Claude Console.
The feature is available today with Claude Pro, Max, Teams, and Enterprise. There is no extra charge to use it. You only pay for the tokens that Claude consumes when running the Skills. With this, Anthropic is turning Claude into a tool that can save time, reduce costs, and keep results consistent across a whole team.
💡What This Means for You
AI is no longer just a demo; it is starting to work like a real teammate. Claude’s new Skills show how fast these tools are moving from experiments to everyday use. The way we do tasks at work could soon change, and missing this wave means falling behind.
🧠The Pulse
Microsoft just ended Windows 10 support and is making Windows 11 smarter with Copilot. You can now talk to your PC by saying, “Hey Copilot.” The AI can look at your screen, understand what you are doing, and even act for you. Your computer is about to feel like a real assistant.
📌The Download
Microsoft added 3 big upgrades to Windows 11. The first is Hey Copilot, which lets you control your PC by voice. The second is Copilot Vision, which can look at your screen when you allow it and guide you through tasks. The third is Copilot Actions, which can do things for you like book tickets, write emails, or order groceries.
Windows 10 officially ended support on October 14, 2025. Around 600M devices still run on it, and many cannot move to Windows 11. This leaves users at risk of hacks or bugs with no security updates. Microsoft wants people to upgrade so they can use new AI features. Critics warn that this could create huge piles of e-waste and push people to buy new PCs earlier than planned.
Microsoft is also rolling Copilot into Xbox with Gaming Copilot, which helps inside games. In Windows 11, the AI is getting connectors to Gmail and Google Calendar so you can ask it to check schedules or messages. The company says features are opt in and you control when Vision sees your screen. But people still remember Cortana, which failed to catch on. This time, Microsoft is betting that AI voice, vision, and actions will finally stick.
💡What This Means for You
Computers are moving from tools you control to AI partners that think, listen, and act. The way you work, play, and even manage daily tasks could soon be shaped by Copilot. This change affects anyone using a PC, because the next phase of computing is voice and AI at the core.
🧠The Pulse
Trip planning is changing. Kayak just added an AI Mode that works like a smart travel buddy. You can ask questions, compare flights, hotels, and rental cars, and then book in one flow. No forms, no endless tabs. Just type what you want, and the AI gives you answers in seconds.
📌The Download
Kayak rolled out AI Mode this week. It brings features from its April launch of Kayak.ai into the main site. Right now, it is live in the US, works in English, and is available on both desktop and mobile web. Travelers can use it to ask about destinations, flights, hotels, and cars.
The AI understands everyday prompts such as “What is the cheapest time to fly to Paris?” or “Where should I go for New Year’s Eve parties?” It then shows real-time results to compare and book. The system pulls live data from Kayak’s travel partners and keeps you inside the booking flow.
Kayak plans to expand AI Mode to more countries, more languages, and mobile apps. Upcoming updates will include voice search, package deals that combine flights and hotels, and hotel filters like “romantic” or “walkable.” Kayak says the goal is to cut planning time and make research much simpler.
💡What This Means for You
AI is now moving into everyday travel. A tool like this shows how fast chat-based assistants are becoming part of normal decisions. It is not only about booking flights. It is about how we will all search, compare, and choose in the future, faster, simpler, and more personal.

BOOK OF THE DAY
Team of Teams by Gen. Stanley McChrystal redefines how organizations must adapt in an unpredictable, fast-changing world. Instead of rigid hierarchies and silos, McChrystal shows how shared consciousness, trust, and decentralized decision-making create resilient, agile teams.
Break Down Silos – Traditional organizations often operate in isolation, protecting turf and slowing down progress. McChrystal calls this a liability in today’s interconnected world. The solution? Build cross-functional collaboration where information flows freely and teams operate as one.
Adapt to Complexity – Old command-and-control models don’t work in a fast, complex environment. Leaders should empower teams to make decisions at the edge, where problems arise. By embracing adaptability over rigid planning, organizations can thrive in uncertainty.
Shared Consciousness & Trust – Instead of hoarding information, McChrystal emphasizes radical transparency. When everyone has access to the bigger picture, trust grows, and individuals align their actions to the mission. Leaders shift from directing to empowering.
💡 Why you can’t ignore this:
In today’s complex, unpredictable world, success doesn’t come from tighter control—it comes from adaptability, trust, and collaboration. Team of Teams is a blueprint for transforming rigid organizations into flexible, resilient networks built to win in chaos.
