Amazon unveiled a next-generation Proteus warehouse robot that understands plain conversational instructions and plans its own tasks and routes, the headline act of a €10 billion ($11.6 billion) investment in its European fulfillment network. The new robots will start roaming European warehouse floors in the first half of 2027.

It is rolling out now in private preview through Microsoft's Frontier program.
