šŸ‘€ AI Browsing Like Humans... Dangerous?

In partnership with

Hello There!

Google is testing a new Gemini AI model that can use a web browser just like people do, so it could one day fill out forms or complete tasks online for you. Anthropic is planning to open an office in India and may work with Reliance to expand there. At the same time, both OpenAI and Anthropic might use investor money to deal with big lawsuits, and OpenAI has also blocked some accounts it linked to China for trying to use ChatGPT for surveillance ideas.

AI is taking on web tasks, expanding reach, tackling lawsuits, and strengthening safeguards.

🧠The Pulse

Google is teaching its Gemini AI to actually use the web like a person. The new Gemini 2.5 Computer can open sites, click buttons, type into boxes, and even submit forms. Instead of just giving answers, the AI now takes action. This is the closest AI has come to ā€œdoing your clicks.ā€

šŸ“ŒThe Download

  • Google introduced Gemini 2.5 Computer Use, an AI built to work inside a browser rather than hidden APIs. It supports 13 actions such as clicking, typing, scrolling, and dragging. Demo videos show it browsing Hacker News and even playing the puzzle game 2048 at 3Ɨ speed.

  • The model uses visual understanding and reasoning to detect what is on a page and decide what to do next. If you say ā€œsign me up,ā€ it identifies the form fields and enters details. Developers can already try it in Google AI Studio and Vertex AI, while Browserbase is sharing hands-on demos.

  • Google claims Gemini 2.5 outperforms competing systems from OpenAI and Anthropic on both web and mobile benchmarks, with faster response times. However, it only controls browsers, not full desktop systems. Alongside this, Google is also rolling out ā€œDeep Thinkā€ for complex reasoning and a ā€œFlashā€ version designed for speed and efficiency.

šŸ’”What This Means for You

AI is now moving from answering questions to handling real tasks. Soon you could ask it to book tickets, fill forms, or test a website while you focus on bigger work. The shift is clear. Gemini is not just smarter. It is learning to do your online work for you.

🧠The Pulse

Anthropic is moving into India with big plans. CEO Dario Amodei is in Bengaluru this week to open the company’s first office in the country. At the same time, he is talking with Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance about a possible partnership that could bring Claude AI directly to millions of users.

šŸ“ŒThe Download

  • Anthropic will open its first India office in Bengaluru by early 2026. This makes India its second biggest market after the US. Dario Amodei is on the ground this week, underlining how critical India has become for Claude’s global growth.

  • Talks are happening with Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries. A tie-up could bring Anthropic’s AI into Reliance’s platforms and telecom network, which already reaches 450M+ customers. Reliance is also building ā€œReliance Intelligenceā€ as an AI backbone for India. A partnership would instantly give Anthropic scale in one of the world’s fastest-growing digital markets.

  • Anthropic is also hiring a country lead and hosting a Developer Day in Bengaluru on Oct 11 with VC firm Accel. The event will focus on Claude’s new models, APIs, and tools to build apps in Indic languages. This comes as Anthropic is tripling its global workforce to meet rising demand for Claude worldwide.

šŸ’”What This Means for You

If you work with AI tools, this news could change how fast you get access to them. Local offices and events mean quicker support, better features for Indian languages, and wider adoption. If Reliance comes on board, Claude could soon power services you already use every single day.

🧠The Pulse

OpenAI and Anthropic are facing lawsuits that could cost billions. Insurance will only cover a small part of the damage. So the companies may use investor money to pay. The outcome could decide how reliable and affordable your favorite AI tools will be in the future.

šŸ“ŒThe Download

  • Authors and publishers accuse OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, and Meta of using copyrighted work without permission to train AI systems. OpenAI has insurance through Aon, but it covers only up to $300M. That number is far below the potential damages, which could reach several billion.

  • Anthropic has already agreed to a $1.5B settlement in California. The case involved about 500,000 books. Authors are set to receive around $3,000 each. The company must also destroy the pirated datasets it used. Payments are broken into installments. $300M is due in October 2025, another $300M after final approval, and $450M in 2026.

  • Insurers say AI lawsuits are too risky and refuse to cover them fully. Because of this, OpenAI is considering a special self-insurance fund that holds investor money. Experts warn that if lawsuits go higher than these reserves, the companies will still be exposed. Lawyers call the possible damages business-threatening.

šŸ’”What This Means for You

The AI tools you use depend on these legal battles. If lawsuits drain billions, expect higher prices, slower updates, or limits on what AI can do. Every court decision could change how fast AI grows and how much you pay. Your daily tools may look very different soon.

OpenAI banned accounts linked to Chinese government groups after they asked ChatGPT to design tools for tracking online conversations. The company says the users wanted help to build systems that could watch protests and public opinion. This case shows how governments are testing AI for spying and why OpenAI is stepping in firmly.

šŸ“ŒThe Download

  • OpenAI’s new threat report explains that several Chinese-language accounts asked ChatGPT to write ideas for ā€œlistening tools.ā€ They wanted sample code, help with debugging, and even full drafts of proposals. The activity mostly happened during work hours in China, and the prompts looked like automated scripts, which raised red flags.

  • Sources say the banned users aimed to create real-time monitoring systems that could track online protests outside China. In addition to Chinese accounts, the report names Russian-speaking groups that tried using ChatGPT to generate malware. Earlier in 2025, OpenAI also banned accounts linked to China, Iran, and North Korea that were caught running phishing schemes and pushing propaganda.

  • The company insists its AI models block outright harmful requests. However, the report shows that bad actors still try to work around the system. OpenAI says it found no proof that its models gave new attack powers, but it will continue to shut down accounts and publish updates to keep users aware.

šŸ’”What This Means for You

AI is no longer just a creative tool. It is also a target for governments and hackers. If you rely on ChatGPT for work, remember that strict rules and sudden bans may follow. The same tools that help you write code or content are now part of global security battles.

BOOK OF THE DAY

Frank Slootman, one of Silicon Valley’s most accomplished CEOs, pulls back the curtain on what it truly takes to scale companies at hypergrowth speed. Amp It Up is not a ā€œfeel-goodā€ leadership book—it’s a battle-tested playbook built on urgency, intensity, and high standards.

  • Think Urgency, Not Comfort – Most organizations slow themselves down by overanalyzing, waiting for consensus, or protecting people’s comfort zones. Slootman explains that great leaders amp up the tempo. They create a culture where speed matters, where mediocrity has no hiding place, and where teams are expected to rise to the challenge every single day.

  • 3 Core Leadership Principles of ā€œAmp It Upā€ – Slootman shows that hypergrowth demands raising the bar so people stretch beyond comfort, moving with relentless urgency to outpace competitors, and narrowing focus to what truly matters. These principles ignite disciplined execution and turn organizations into unstoppable engines of growth.

  • Beyond Incremental Growth – Slootman argues that hypergrowth isn’t about doing more of the same—it’s about changing the game. By demanding sharper focus, higher expectations, and relentless drive, leaders unlock levels of performance teams never imagined possible. The outcome? Extraordinary results that competitors cannot replicate.

šŸ’” Why you can’t ignore this:

Processes and strategies can be copied. But an uncompromising culture of urgency, intensity, and excellence is nearly impossible to mimic. Leaders who ā€œAmp It Upā€ build organizations that move faster, think bigger, and scale higher.

KEY QUOTES AND STRATEGIC INSIGHT

"AI may shape the future, but humanity will always define its purpose."
— Barack Obama, 44th President of the United States

Strategic Insight: AI can accelerate your output, but it cannot replace your judgment. Use it to extend your reach, not outsource your thinking. The strongest advantage comes when human intuition directs machine speed, creating results neither could achieve alone.
