ChatGPT is about to help you shop at Walmart without leaving the chat. You can search, compare, and buy in one place. Just confirm your address and payment and your order is complete. After testing this feature with Etsy last month, OpenAI is now scaling it with Walmart, the world’s largest retailer.

šŸ“ŒThe Download

  • OpenAI announced the Walmart deal on Oct 14, 2025, right after launching Instant Checkout with Etsy in September. The idea is simple. You see a product inside ChatGPT, tap buy, confirm details, and Walmart delivers the order. There are no added fees for users, only a smoother checkout.

  • Walmart is the first big US retailer to join this model. Industry experts say ChatGPT will display product cards with images and prices so users can compare options directly in the chat. Company filings show Sam’s Club members are also included, and Walmart stock rose 3% on the news, reflecting strong investor interest.

  • Researchers point out that Walmart already runs its own AI tool called Sparky. This new partnership brings outside AI agents into the picture. Market data shows ChatGPT already drives about 20% of Walmart’s referral traffic, and analysts call this ā€œagent commerce,ā€ where AI handles the buying process for you.

šŸ’”What This Means for You

AI is moving from talking to shopping. Soon you can buy Walmart items right inside ChatGPT without opening another app. This means faster checkouts, fewer clicks, and less time wasted online. Your cart could be done in one chat while everyone else is still scrolling.

Mozilla just gave Firefox a big upgrade. You can now pick Perplexity AI as your search engine instead of Google or Bing. Instead of scrolling through endless links, you get direct answers with sources. This means your browser itself becomes smarter, faster, and more useful every time you search.

šŸ“ŒThe Download

  • Mozilla added Perplexity in Firefox version 144 after months of testing with users in the US, UK, and Germany. The trial started earlier in version 139 and the results were strong, so the feature is now rolling out more widely. You will see Perplexity as a choice in the address bar when you search.

  • Perplexity is different from regular search engines because it writes answers in simple language with clickable citations. That makes it easy to verify facts without jumping across 10 tabs. If you are outside the initial rollout, you can still add it manually through Firefox settings or install the Perplexity add-on.

  • Along with this update, Firefox 144 also brings visual search that lets you find information from images and browser profiles that keep work and personal browsing separate. Mozilla is making these changes to give users more control and reduce its heavy reliance on Google, which has paid Mozilla billions over the years to stay the default option.

šŸ’”What This Means for You

The way people find information online is changing fast. Firefox now offers AI answers from Perplexity that appear instantly with sources. Instead of digging through pages of links, information comes straight to you. This marks a shift where AI, not search engines, decides how knowledge reaches everyone.

OpenAI has joined hands with Broadcom to design new AI chips and reduce its reliance on Nvidia. The plan is to build 10GW of computing power, enough to run huge data centers. The rollout begins in 2026 and ends in 2029. Analysts say the deal could cost $350B to $500B.

šŸ“ŒThe Download

  • OpenAI will work with Broadcom to create custom accelerator racks. These racks will deliver 10GW of computing power and will be placed in OpenAI and partner data centers from 2026 until 2029. OpenAI explains that designing its own hardware lets it use what it has learned from AI model building to create faster and smarter chips.

  • Sources confirm that Broadcom’s networking systems will connect these accelerators, challenging Nvidia’s InfiniBand. This agreement comes after OpenAI signed for 6GW of chips from AMD and a $100B deal with Nvidia. Reports also mention a $300B cloud contract with Oracle. If combined, OpenAI could have about 26GW of computing power in total.

  • Analysts estimate the project’s cost between $350B and $500B. Researchers reported that Broadcom shares went up after the news. However, some experts warn that managing such high spending may be difficult. Sources add that OpenAI is following the path of Google, Meta, and Microsoft, who already design their own chips to save costs and increase performance.

šŸ’”What This Means for You

Control of AI is moving into hardware. For professionals using AI tools, this means faster and cheaper systems may arrive in the next few years. At the same time, it shows that the race for AI power is getting more intense. The ones who control computing will control the future.

Have you ever joined a meeting and wished you looked more fresh and polished? Now Google Meet can do that for you. The app has introduced an AI makeup filter that applies foundation lipstick and blush instantly. You only need to pick one of the 12 ready styles and you are meeting ready in seconds.

šŸ“ŒThe Download

  • Google started rolling out the AI makeup filter on October 8 2025. The option is inside the ā€œAppearanceā€ setting under ā€œPortrait touch-up.ā€ It is turned off by default but once you choose your preferred look the app will remember it for your next calls.

  • This feature builds on last year’s portrait touch-up tool that only smoothed skin and brightened under-eyes. Now it goes further. The makeup looks adapt to light and face movement. Even if you move your head or hands during the call the makeup stays in place.

  • Google is doing this to catch up with competitors. Microsoft Teams and Zoom already have beauty filters. Google’s answer is 12 studio-quality looks from simple natural tones to bold styles. The company says it helps people on days when they do not want to spend time applying real makeup but still want to look professional on camera.

šŸ’”What This Means for You

Looking good on camera no longer depends on makeup bags or extra time in front of the mirror. Google Meet’s AI filter gives anyone an instant polished look with one click. It turns everyday video calls into stress-free moments and makes confidence easier for everyone.

  • Keep Going When It’s Hard – The middle is full of doubts and challenges. Belsky says the secret is to keep moving forward, even when progress feels slow. Step by step, small wins add up.

  • Improve a Little Every Day – Don’t wait for one big breakthrough. Instead, make small changes and improvements every day. Over time, these small steps build something amazing.

  • Take Care of Your Team – Great ideas matter, but people matter more. When you support your team, give them energy, and remove roadblocks, they will push your project forward.

šŸ’” Why you can’t ignore this:

Most projects fail in the middle, not at the start or end. The Messy Middle shows how to survive this tough stage by staying strong, improving daily, and keeping your team inspired.
